Position Summary

The Director of Business Development & Marketing is responsible for all activities associated with developing new business and a positive professional image for the firm. This includes marketing, public relations and customer acquisition. Other areas of responsibility include internal public relations and all charity efforts for the firm.

Responsibilities

Marketing & PR (40%)

  • Designs, develops and manages promotional materials for all aspect of the business
    • Performs periodic surveys to businesses to determine hot buttons for promotional materials.
    • Engages the Administrative Assistant for assistance with maintaining inventory of materials
    • Strategizes and implements plans for utilization of the website and social media channels (e.g., Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter)
  • Designs & creates and deliver the firm’s electronic newsletter on a monthly basis along with a paper version.
  • Designs, plans, and implements educational seminars to be used for branding, education and revenue generation for the firm.
  • Strategizes and pursues PR recognition
  • Strategizes and implements charitable and cause-marketing activities that involve contributions and volunteering
  • Researches additional marketing techniques and trends

 

Business Development (40%)

  • Strategizes and implements plans to generate business leads, including phone calls, e-mail contact, online campaigns, meetings, networking, and referral partners
  • Works closely with colleagues to pursue leads through meetings, e-mail and other follow-up activities
  • Consults with colleagues on proposals and presentations in order to provide branding and positioning assistance
  • Research additional marketing techniques and trends for this area.

 

Customer Engagement (5%)

  • Makes calls, plans lunches and makes periodic visits to current customers
  • Strategizes and implements customer care activities
  • Performs periodic customer satisfaction surveys
  • Obtains customer testimonials
  • Initiates, supports and follows through with Care to Share referral program
  • Researches additional marketing techniques and trends for this area.

 

Company Support (10%)

  • Supports company recruiting efforts through networking, website promotion of openings, and general awareness of talent and promotion of the company as a great employer
  • Works as part of the administrative team by involving the office manager and the rest of the administrative team in the planning of activities, promotions, etc. so that they can offer assistance.
  • Participates in company meetings
  • Nurturing company culture and employee engagement through coordination of events and other activities

 

 Marketing & Business Development Leadership (5%)

  • Strategically identifies the most meaningful ways to engage team members in marketing and business development, and develops their involvement
  • Designs, manages and promotes internal recognition systems focused on promoting firm-wide engagement in marketing and business development activities
  • Ensures Key Performance Indicators are produced and reviewed including outflow, responses, appointments and new customers from all marketing sources and report them to the Principal
  • Develops and follows a budget for marketing, PR, business development, and customer engagement activities

Working Conditions

  • Works primarily out of the Simons Bitzer office. However, there is some flexibility to work from home when needed.
  • Extensive computer and phone work.
  • Standard business hours with some evening hours required for business events.
  • Local travel required.  On a yearly basis, may attend a conference out of state but not required.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 4 + years of experience with marketing and/or sales.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience with B2B relationship driven sales
  • Strong Interpersonal Skills
  • 2 years minimum experience in digital marketing
  • Computer, Microsoft office proficiency
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle required.
